"The artist is self-taught. His first show was in 1959 in Monterey, California while serving with the U.S. Army Counter-Intelligence Corps. Since then his work has been displayed in galleries in Oregon, California, Michigan, New York, Chicago and Germany. He has degrees from Stanford University and the University of Oregon and has taught at Albion College, Central Michigan University, California State University at Northridge, and has offered Chautauqua Short Courses for the National Science Foundation on Paradox, Science & Art, the Creative Process and Leonardo. He presently lives in the St. John's neighborhood of Portland, Oregon."
